The Doctoral School of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (WUEB) is pleased to invite join the discussion in a series of International Doctoral Seminars which will be held online on December 6th, 2023, 16.00-18.00 (CET)
Objectives:
• presentation of doctoral students' research;
• creating an international forum of discussion between doctoral students and established academics;
• exchange of research experience.


The topic of the Eleventh Seminar:
Crises as a catalyst of solutions in economics, finance and management

Program of the meeting:
16:00 – Welcome address: Prof. Bogusława Drelich-Skulska (Vice-Rector for Accreditation and International Cooperation) and Prof. Czesław Zając (Dean of Doctoral School of WUEB)


16.15 – Opening lecture by a keynote speaker:
Dr Paweł Capik - Director of Postgraduate Research at the College of Business and Law, University of West England in Bristol, UK. Prior to joining Bristol Business School in July 2019, he worked at Keele University, Sheffield Hallam University, University of the West of Scotland and University of Glasgow. He was also a Visiting Faculty at Grenoble Ecole de Management, France. In his research, Paweł focuses on the relationships between international business strategies and operations and regional development theory and practice, particularly in the context of emerging and transition economies.
Results of his research have appeared as monographs, book chapters, reports and papers published in international journals including Advances in International Management and Entrepreneurial Business and Economics Review.
Dr Paweł Capik has supervised doctoral students working on projects exploring political economy of financial sector investments in Africa, contact centres management within the service science context, and application of psychoanalytical techniques in the strategy process. Currently he is supervising PhD and DBA candidates studying migrant firm internationalisation, SMEs export from volatile territories and international aid and public diplomacy.

17:15 – Sylwia Cieślik, University of Łódź, The impact of Brexit on initial public offerings on the London Stock Exchange.
