[Call for papers] "New Approaches to Legal Ontology"

[Call for papers] "New Approaches to Legal Ontology"

School of Philosophy, University College Cork
Cork, Ireland
April 26, 2023 - April 27, 2023
Submission deadline: February 28, 2023

The workshop New Approaches to Legal Ontology will be held in person on the 26th and 27th April, 2023 at UCC, Cork. The aim of the workshop is to create an interdisciplinary opportunity for legal philosophers and social ontologists to discuss together new approaches to legal ontology. By asking the participants to consider fundamental questions, such as what kind of entities are legal rules, legal organisations, and legal systems? and how can we account for their existence?, the workshop will provide the best forum for the application of general theories of artifacts, group agency, institutional reality, and social (meta)metaphysics to prominent debates within analytic jurisprudence.

Confirmed speakers:
Åsa Burman (Philosophy, Stockholm University)
Kenneth Ehrenberg (Law, University of Surrey)
Ann Whittle (Philosophy, University of Manchester)
Corrado Roversi (Law, University of Bologna)
