The doctoral program prepares for obtaining a PhD degree in the field of social sciences in the discipline of psychology. The participant of the doctoral program realises a modular program offered as part of the Doctoral School in the Social Sciences of the Jagiellonian University, which consists of four modules:

Module 1. Specialist education - selected areas of scientific achievements in psychology;

Module 2. Methodological education - methodology of research specific to psychology as an empirical science (statistical and qualitative methods);

Module 3. Academic competences - determinants of the development of a scientific career;

Module 4. Professional and soft skills, including preparation for academic work. In addition to those offered under the abovementioned course modules, the PhD student also can confirm the acquisition of the assumed learning outcomes as a result of his activities carried out outside the classroom.

A graduate of Doctoral School in the Social Sciences School is prepared for the scientific work as a future employee of academic institutions, acting as both a researcher and a teacher in higher education. The graduate has a broad range of knowledge about the social and psychological foundations of individual and social behaviour. The graduate of this faculty will also learn theoretically and practically the workshop of scientific work in the field of psychology to the extent that further independent scientific and research work is possible. They will deepen the knowledge of the philosophical and methodological foundations of psychology; they master the applied research tools and techniques; perfect knowledge of a chosen foreign language, acquire necessary didactic competences.
